To improve the health and welfare of all infants, children, adolescents and young adults within the State of Alaska by:

	encouraging and assisting its members to meet the overall health needs of children and youth;
	furthering the policies and programs of the American Academy of Pediatrics at the state and local level;
	serving as an advocate for children and their families.
